蔡英文15日參拜澎湖天后宮途中，遇上民眾高舉看板反對再辦博弈公投，她趨前致意，事後由隨行主任黃重諺轉述說，尊重縣府依公投法程序決定。
4年前澎湖首辦博弈公投，當時以五成四反對勝四成六支持，全案破局；但贊成方不死心，去年起就動作頻頻，盼3年後的今年可再公投決勝負。
今年，澎湖國際化推動聯盟再提博弈公投發起人連署，並送縣府審查，縣長陳光復批示提案依法辦理，同時送交公投審議委員會審議。
昨上午蔡英文參拜天后宮，反賭公民團體聚集現場高舉看板「請小英主席救救澎湖，拒絕再次博弈公投」，現場出現小騷動。蔡英文離去前特前往握手致意，謝謝反賭團體關心澎湖，鼓勵更加油。
事後有媒體解讀蔡英文立場是反對再辦博弈公投，民進黨新聞輿情部轉述蔡英文看法表示，澎湖已舉辦過1次博弈公投，尊重當時民眾決定，現又有團體發起新博弈公投並完成連署，她也尊重縣府依公投法規定辦理。
陳光復則表示，他私下亦反對博弈，但有近500人連署，他依法不能不收，是否通過權限在公投審議委員會，能不能過則在鄉親父母，要按程序，一個縣長沒這麼大權力能拒絕。
